Worlds Most Expensive Guitar?

“The world’s most expensive Fender guitar is now in Singapore, and it’s available for sale at a manufacturer-suggested price of US$90,000″

The electric guitar is named “Midnight Opulence” and is encrusted with different types of jewels.

They include diamonds, citrine, blue topaz, peridot and emeralds.

A celebrity master builder handmade the guitar from scratch, which explains its exclusivity.

Its asking price might be over the top for most, but already, some 15 people have indicated their interest to buy it.

Swee Lee Music Company’s Aryadni Balfaghi said:

“Usually those who purchase such guitars would be collectors and hobbyists and we have buyers, of course, from Singapore, and Southeast Asia.

“Some of the buyers are from the Brunei Royalties, Malaysian Royalties, and some international celebrities as well.”

Swee Lee Music Company won the bid at the National Association of Music Merchants in Los Angeles to bring the guitar to Singapore.

The guitar wires are hand-hammered of fine silver and rose gold design. Jewellery work and inlay are by master builder Yuriy Shishkov from Russia.

The guitar is known as a stratocaster to those more passionate about their music, and is one of the most versatile guitars around – famously played by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen and Mark Knopfler, to name a few.”

Today we're looking at Power Chords and the classic JJ Cale song Cocaine. Although this is very much more in the style of the Eric Clapton version.

Sad news................"The Father of Loud" Jim Marshall, the founder of Marshall amps, died today aged 88. Slash tweeted "The news of Jim Marshall passing is deeply saddening. R & R will never be the same w/out him. But, his amps will live on FOREVER!"

I say, set up yer stack and rock heaven 'till it shakes.

That man defined the heavy rock guitar sound.

Yes it's happy birthday to Johann Sebastian Bach...born in 1685. Did he influence any great rock guitarists????
