Learning song structures

Following on from my Guitar Goals video I now want to look at another technique with you that I’ve used in the past, and in fact still use now. This has helped me in not only learning many new songs but also in writing my own songs. I hope to share more details on songwriting with you in a future video, but for now take a look at this cool technique. You don’t even need a guitar for this one!

    Andy-
Your guitar playing and songwriting talent has always been outstanding (in my humble opinion).
XTC always played very accessible music; although it was not necessarily ‘three chord’ simplicity.
I like your down to earth teaching approach. Yeah, some of us would consider you a guitar god.
    Thanks for sharing.

Today we're looking at Power Chords and the classic JJ Cale song Cocaine. Although this is very much more in the style of the Eric Clapton version.

Sad news................"The Father of Loud" Jim Marshall, the founder of Marshall amps, died today aged 88. Slash tweeted "The news of Jim Marshall passing is deeply saddening. R & R will never be the same w/out him. But, his amps will live on FOREVER!"

I say, set up yer stack and rock heaven 'till it shakes.

That man defined the heavy rock guitar sound.

Yes it's happy birthday to Johann Sebastian Bach...born in 1685. Did he influence any great rock guitarists????
