Roadhouse Blues

Roadhouse Blues – The Doors

This is one version or interpretation of the intro to this classic Doors blues number. We’ll shortly be teaching this complete song, and I’m also planning on doing some videos on how to Jam solos to blues backing tracks – without just going up and down scales!

This should be fun, as it’s what I really enjoy, and probably what I’m best at.

Regards Andy

C’mon guys,,,,,, what Andy is teaching here is fairly simple, just watch the video a few times and you will get it, its a very simple piece to play, give it a try before you start looking for easier ways to play something.

Great lesson Andy, keep up the great work brother

Hi Andy, really enjoy the videos but have to disagree with most viewers as I don’t believe that TABS are necessary for the songs you have chosen. Maybe if you step up a few levels they will become necessary, but at present I would think that if a viewer has to put in that little extra time to properly understand what you are playing he or she will derive more benefit from the lesson(s). Good stuff…quality and easy to follow, but as some suggested already, TABS would be the finishing touch!
    Thanks

    Nice lesson, thanks- quite complete.

IMO, your version sounds rather cheery and optimistic in contrast to the rather dark and ominous (if comically so) tones of the original.

Once again Andy awesome job mate. One thing I think would be of so much help and since I noticed that your doing nothing with the top right hand corner of the screen how about putting the tab up there to follow you with. I’d sure like to see it, I don’t know about others though I would think it would benefit them as well.

Today we're looking at Power Chords and the classic JJ Cale song Cocaine. Although this is very much more in the style of the Eric Clapton version.

Sad news................"The Father of Loud" Jim Marshall, the founder of Marshall amps, died today aged 88. Slash tweeted "The news of Jim Marshall passing is deeply saddening. R & R will never be the same w/out him. But, his amps will live on FOREVER!"

I say, set up yer stack and rock heaven 'till it shakes.

That man defined the heavy rock guitar sound.

Yes it's happy birthday to Johann Sebastian Bach...born in 1685. Did he influence any great rock guitarists????
