Thanks Andy for a refreshing taste of solo Bowie guitar; well demonstrated, do-able for my skill level at this point. I like these “shortcut” methods to learning to play lead guitar without a lot of theory meltdown.

Dear all...........sore fingers!!!!!

One thing that beginners on the guitar have to quickly expect is some level of pain in the fingers as the process of building calluses in the fingertips takes place. Calluses are hardened skin throughout the area that touches the axe strings and guitar beginners don’t have this toughened skin yet. The strings will penetrate deep on the flesh and cause some tenderness and potentially a little pain.

Many of you may well think about giving up at this stage. That is why it is so important for you to keep reminding yourselves of the fun aspect and how much enjoyment you will have - so press on, especially during the initial stages.

Within a few weeks of consistent playing time, the calluses will form and you will no longer feel any pain in your fingers. But getting through that pain process is often one great challenge that you will often face, but believe you me, it will come good in the end.

That'all........have fun.

Opinion time. I found this from someone on tinternet who reckons these are the best guitar solos of all time. NOT MY OPINION........but what do you reckon?

Best Guitar Solos of All Time •Lynyrd Skynyrd: Freebird
•Guns N' Roses: November Rain and Sweet Child O Mine
•Jimi Hendrix: Machine Gun, All Along the Watchtower and Voodoo Child
•Led Zeppelin: Stairway to Heaven
•The Eagles: Hotel California
•Pink Floyd: Comfortably Numb and Time
•Dire Straits: Sultans of Swing
•Stevie Ray Vaughn: Texas Flood
•ACDC: You Shook Me All Night Long
•Eric Johnson: Cliffs of Dover
•Van Halen: Eruption
•Cream: Crossroads
•Chuck Berry: Jonny B. Goode

Any more to add in - and why!!!!!

Melody? Skill level? Passion? Emotion? I pulled when listening to it?

Marvellous.

Andy.

Slash has announced details of his second solo album "Apocalyptic Love".

The album is the follow-up to the legendary axeman's solo debut, which was self-titled and came out in 2010. His second offering will be released on May 21. I'll certainly be giving it a listen

It was also confirmed earlier this week that Guns N' Roses will reunite to attend their induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April. However, they are not confirmed to play live together on the night as yet.

Could be a classic.
