Hey Andy.thank’s for doing this stuff mate, it’s really great to use this service you’ve provided. You have a good way with teaching in this video format/method. You really do have a clear, straight ahead focus that comes across to the learner/student in no uncertain terms. It’s cool. And I was curious to know if you guy’s might be able to note the settings you have for getting the sound a specific riff or tune requires or should have if a guy was trying for the same sound. Anyways just a thought, it would assist a whole lot for the first timers and better. Cheers, Angus G.

just so well explained ,but when youve mastered all of this does some of it still test out the masters ,does everyone have strengths and weaknesses on the guitar,no matter how good they make it sound?

Looks like a good system to me. I base this comment upon the fact that I’m a professional educator and have used many methods in my time and tend to think that breaking the information down into manageable chunks is the right way to go with a subject like this. As a would-be guitarist/musician, I am sure my guitar playing will advance exponentially.

    Regards,
    Marcus Peace.

The Johnny B Gode version looks easier than the full version I. have been struggling with for some months. Experincing a very slow download to view the sample or free videos. have to keep ,pausing to allow download taking several times longer to watch the free stuff may be my connection.
I have been trying to learn the guitar for years Didn’t not start until my late forties. I’m now almost 58 years old but haven’t quit yet. find lots of lessons hard. can play basic 12 bar blues. a pentotonic solo at the 5 fret. wild thing. a rock & roll riff some muting a hammer on or 2 plus a few twiddly bits. Edward.

On the Chuck Berry side of things: CB you know who you are and what you did with this tune that was explosive and dynamic! How about Andy! We should all be giving it up for Andy who can take the most difficult to me riffs and things and present them effortlessly and with fun!?

“Andy says if it makes us happy then we’ll be at our guitars”

    It’s true for me!!

Andy, this lead sounds when you hear it & I could never get it right, maybe because I always get it confused with the lead in Bye Bye Johnny, but you make it seem so simple I think I’m getting the hang of it now. I should be able to get Bye Bye Johnny & Bad Boy both from this lesson.

    Andy:
I am a real beginner. The lesson seems simple and easy to ubderstand, but is was so fast I was unable to follow you with a single note.I am trying to master the most important cords, but from one day to another I can not remember which is the A, D, E or G chord. Is there a method to memorize chords?
To help me in above lessons can you add by typing all the words that you mention in the lesson.
Thank you for sending free lessons.
    Marco

im only an intermediate player, i guess above a beginner, but my frustration is i cant get me left freting hand to do notes quicker, i know the neck pretty good, and practice a lot, but just cant get that left hand better, this is why i wont buy anything on line. i guess i should quit, and take up something else, this is only a hobby, or do u have a better suggestion?

Today we're looking at Power Chords and the classic JJ Cale song Cocaine. Although this is very much more in the style of the Eric Clapton version.

Sad news................"The Father of Loud" Jim Marshall, the founder of Marshall amps, died today aged 88. Slash tweeted "The news of Jim Marshall passing is deeply saddening. R & R will never be the same w/out him. But, his amps will live on FOREVER!"

I say, set up yer stack and rock heaven 'till it shakes.

That man defined the heavy rock guitar sound.

Yes it's happy birthday to Johann Sebastian Bach...born in 1685. Did he influence any great rock guitarists????
